How's your love life?

I bet that title caught your attention, didn’t it?

If I were to ask anyone how their love life was going, I guarantee I’d get an answer. Whether they told me about this boy/girl they liked; or how their boyfriend just broke up with them, or that their girlfriend is fine.. I mean I’d get an answer, and more often than not they’ll willingly include details.

So why is it that when I ask someone how it is with God the answer is “Oh fine” or “I’ve been attending church regularly” or even “You know.. He loves me and stuff.”

Can someone please tell me what’s up with this??

Have we forsaken our first love? The first person to seek after us with all gentleness, patience and love in the world; have we tossed Him aside for a boy or girl we’ve been dating for 6 weeks??

“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.”
-Revelation 2:4 (NASB)

This breaks my heart, this is something that brings tears to my eyes and keeps me up at night praying; this is the burden that God has breaking His heart and shared with me..

Abba doesn’t want you to be a robot, or a puppet He makes do whatever He wants with strings.. He aches for a relationship with you! and anything that you do for Him to be out of the love in your heart for Him; God just wants you.

When someone asks you how goes it with God, our response shouldn’t be one worded “Fine” or “Good.” It should a packed full paragraph of how awesome the Love of our lives is, what He’s doing in our lives or even how the trials in our lives are bringing us closer.

”Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you know how you ought to answer each one.”
-Colossians 4:6 (NKJV)

A man has joy in an apt answer,
And how delightful is a timely word!
- Proverbs 15:23 (NASB)

If not for nothing it should be honest, “I kind of falling off track.. could you pray for me? Could I talk to you about it?” but we should not be giving lukewarm answers!

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth!”
-Revelation 3:16 (NASB)
